Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

Caring support and state-of-the-art medicine
Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Peter Neu

The Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Jewish Hospital comprises a ward for general psychiatry, a ward for addiction medicine, a ward for inpatient short-term psychotherapy post-traumatic stress disorders and/or borderline disorders with additional addictions as well as a psychiatric outpatient unit and a day care hospital.

For patients with borderline disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders and an additional addiction, we provide qualified detoxification combined with inpatient short-term therapy.

All relevant psychiatric clinical pictures are treated at the Department for General Psychiatry. Psychiatric treatment is aimed at patients with different kinds of mental illnesses. These include depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders, manic depressive disorders, dementia, schizophrenia and schizophrenic psychoses, stress disorders and personality disorders. Our treatment concept is always based on the individual life story of the patient, determined according to the mental illness in question and discussed with the patient. Therefore, comprehensive diagnostics and an individual therapy plan are necessary at the beginning of each treatment.

Our outpatient unit offers diagnosis and treatment of addictive and other psychiatric diseases. It forms the link between outpatient treatment and GP care.

One of the strengths of our Clinic is the caring and homely atmosphere, coupled with state-of-the-art medicine based on the latest scientific research. The therapy team consists of doctors, specially trained nurses and carers, certified psychologists, addiction therapists and social workers, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
